{"id":700,"date":"2011-07-06T12:18:42","date_gmt":"2011-07-06T19:18:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mikelberman.com\/blog\/?p=700"},"modified":"2011-08-17T21:20:37","modified_gmt":"2011-08-18T04:20:37","slug":"first-prize-at-gamehackday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/mikelberman.com\/blog\/?p=700","title":{"rendered":"Hadokam Wins First Prize at GameHackDay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hadokam.com\/\">Hadokam<\/a> is a collaborated street fighter 4 hack accomplished during the 24-hr hackathon GameHackDay NYC 2011 by  <a href=\"http:\/\/leejayxia.com\/\">Liangjie Xia<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brunokruse.com\/\">Bruno Kruse<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/diegorioja.com\/\">Diego Rioja<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/mustafabagdatli.com\/\">Mustafa Bagdatli<\/a> and myself.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"HadoKam by mauxfaux, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/fauxtauxs\/6049949937\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm7.static.flickr.com\/6205\/6049949937_82b5d99d70.jpg\" alt=\"HadoKam\" width=\"500\" height=\"376\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We developed software to manipulate a frontal picture of the player&#8217;s face. \u00a0It is projected onto the 3D character model extracted from the original game, generating a replacement skin texture file swapped back into the game for real gameplay. \u00a0The character-model&#8217;s proportions have also been modified to create a Big Head Mode, making the players&#8217; faces the main attraction. \u00a0This makes for much more rewarding gameplay &#8211; the vicarious friend beatdown.
