Step One:Photoshop mockup of warped Margiela/Mykita frames matching Ray Ban Wayfarer lenses

Step Two: determine lens shape and size

Step Three: outline Margiela Mykita frames in Illustrator

Step Four: adjust frame shapes to match Wayfarer lenses, prep shapes for laser cutting
(note: after initial laser cut trial, etched portion of lens was filled in solid red to estimate two-tone effect)

Step Five: fire the laser!

Step Six: laser cut result

Step Seven: insert lenses (delicately – may need to use rotary tool to engrave lens seating divots inside lens frames)
(note: the frame arms were taken off a cheap pair of sunglasses, but in the process one of the hinge mounts snapped, so new hinges/arms need to be sourced and attached)
