A series of 3D printed Starbuck’s cups or cupholders that outrageously reflect each religion that has a celebration around this time of year. Imagine a ridiculous number of star of davids making up the cup surface. Set up a display case outside of popular Starbuck’s.
Using 123D Make to create an interactive sculpture of horizontal slices. Each slice would be lazer cut and assembled around a street lamp or sign post so that the slices could be rotated around that rotation point. Slices could contain facts/quotes that are engraved in the plastic and can only be viewed through interaction. There’s a possibility to incorporate light in interesting ways also.
The third option would be to work with Bryan on his octopus logo concept.
I like the idea of interactive sculpture/stop sign vase a lot! It can turn into a playful experience. Makes me think of gamification through the facts/quotes you’ll be engraving? Also possibilities of beautiful shadow art?
I like the interactive light post. People would interact simply out of boredom while they wait at the intersection. It also activates the city. This said how does it activate the city? I think you need a bit more of a concept for whats written on these slices – at the moment it’s a little fluffy.
nice work and sketches Jo, I really like the idea of the stop sign mixed with light and facts. Its a juxtaposition of public installations with the stuff that are interacting with public and can have more usage. I would suggest to add more detail about the interaction that could be possible in public.
