I spent a lot of time thinking about fractals and the fractal nature of our universe. Then I started researching Torus fractals and became interested in the aesthetics of them.<\/p>\n

I searched images in google that would help be bring this idea into the physical world.<\/p>\n

I wanted to make an etching since I have very little experience with the laser cutter.<\/p>\n

Making an etching on paper with the laser cutter:<\/p>\n

From the toroid etching I got inspired to make my own toroid by using small toroids. Kind of like a fractal.<\/p>\n

Using wood panels, I cut about 400 pieces of small “toroids” using a picture of a washer from the internet.<\/p>\n

I cut many many pieces and experimented making some forms and shapes.<\/p>\n
